What are Mental Health and Wellbeing Drop-In Chats?
What are Mental Health and Wellbeing Drop-In Chats?
Since January 2019 we have held our weekly MATES Mental Health and Wellbeing Drop-ins, as well as in local pubs, currently at the MATES PubHub @ TheGardeners. In 2021, we started holding drop-ins at our MATES FC training and games, pitch-side.
The pitch-side drop-ins are a place where people can come and get things off of their chest and share their problems or concerns, or just get out of the house, whilst watching some live football. No photos, no notes, no stigma just a nice comfy pub in the safety of people that care and will not judge.
The pitch-side drop-ins are held by MATES Ambassadors.
Have a chat about mental health or just meet new people and chat about your worries or issues whenever you feel comfortable, some people find they don't talk about themselves but feel better after just being with people that are going through similar things, or just being out the house to watch some football.
